How to Transfer USDT from KuCoin to Bybit?

Transferring funds between different crypto exchanges is a very common process for many cryptocurrency investors. In this article, we will be showing you how to transfer USDT from KuCoin to Bybit.

Users transfer funds from one exchange to another for various reasons. Maybe you want to buy an Altcoin that is only available on a particular exchange, or you want to take advantage of an arbitrage opportunity. Some exchanges don't accept fiat, so you might have to transfer funds to an exchange that supports fiat pairs.

Key highlights:

  • KuCoin and Bybit are two exchanges that are popular among cryptocurrency investors
  • In this article, we are going to explain the process of transferring Tether (USDT) from KuCoin to Bybit
  • We'll be providing a step-by-step guide and addressing the most common questions users have about the process

What is KuCoin?

KuCoin is a popular cryptocurrency exchange that’s a favorite among altcoin traders. Since its launch in 2017, KuCoin has introduced numerous new features to expand its offering of trading products. Even though Binance is a bigger exchange than KuCoin, KuCoin lists some smaller cryptocurrencies that are not available for trading on Binance. KuCoin, like many other crypto exchanges, has its own token called KCS, which enables users to benefit from lower trading fees and participate in special promotions.

Pros:

  • Wide selection of altcoins with 700+ trading pairs
  • Supports spot, margin, and futures trading for passive income
  • Offers crypto lending and staking for passive income
  • Competitive fees with additional discounts using KCS
  • Intuitive interface suitable for beginners and advanced users

Cons:

  • Limited regulatory oversight in some jurisdictions
  • No direct fiat deposits via bank transfers in many countries

What is Bybit?

Bybit is a crypto trading platform that was founded in 2018. Initially, Bybit was focused on offering derivatives trading (crypto futures contracts), but the platform has since added spot markets, savings products, a Launchpad platform, and other features users expect from a modern cryptocurrency exchange. Bybit supports a large number of cryptocurrencies and often holds special events where traders can earn additional rewards. Bybit was never the target of a hacking attack and is generally considered one of the safest crypto exchanges around.

Pros:

  • Fast-growing exchange with a strong focus on derivatives
  • Low fees and deep liquidity for perpetual and futures contracts
  • User-friendly interface and advanced charting tools
  • Regular trading competitions and promotional bonuses
  • Supports spot trading, copy trading, and crypto staking

Cons:

  • Limited fiat onramp options
  • Restricted access in some regions due to regulatory concerns

KuCoin to Bybit transfer – A step-by-step guide

Sending USDT from KuCoin to Bybit is a relatively straightforward process, as long as you keep a few important points in mind. We'll be providing a step-by-step guide that will hopefully answer any questions you might have about the process.

1. Get your USDT deposit address on Bybit

If you want to send USDT to your Bybit account, you will first have to find your Bybit USDT deposit address. After logging in to your Bybit account, go to the “Assets” section and select “Spot Account.”

You will see a list of all the coins listed on the exchange. USDT should be near the top of the list, but you can find it with the search bar if you don’t spot it right away. Select the “Deposit” option next to USDT.

Bybit different chain types for USDT

The USDT token is available on many different blockchains. However, you cannot directly send USDT from one blockchain (for example, Ethereum) to a different blockchain (for example, TRON). Let's say that you have TRON-based USDT – in order for the transaction to be successful, the tokens must be sent to another address on the TRON blockchain.

Pay close attention to the chain type that you select, as it must match the chain type that you will be selecting on KuCoin. ERC20, TRC20, and OMNI are the available chains for USDT on Bybit. TRC20 is the preferred option for many users since it is one of the fastest and cheapest ways to transfer crypto.

In most cases, you will want to receive deposits into your Spot account on Bybit. If you want to customize this option, you can do so by selecting "Modify" in the deposit window.

2. Withdraw USDT from KuCoin

If you are using a web browser, log in to your KuCoin account and go to the "Withdraw" section. There's a search box on this page, and you will be able to find USDT there.

Now, you have to enter your USDT address (the address you received from Bybit) and select the proper chain. The blockchain type should match the blockchain you selected on Bybit. Finally, you have to click confirm to complete the withdrawal process. Then, you will have to provide your trading password, email verification code, and 2FA code.

3. Check your deposit on Bybit

The USDT deposit should be available in your Bybit account after a few network confirmations, which usually takes a couple of minutes. The deposit will be added to your “Assets” and will be visible under your “Spot Account”. If you choose to auto-channel the deposit to your Derivatives Account, you will be able to find it there. You can also check out the Tronscan block explorer to track the transaction on the TRON blockchain.

Additional Considerations

Crypto traders have to transfer assets like USDT between crypto exchanges if they wish to pursue lucrative investment opportunities across different trading platforms. Also, different exchanges often support different altcoins, which means that transferring funds is the only option to gain exposure to certain alternative digital assets. Other features like staking, lending, and more also differ from one exchange to another.

The process of sending USDT from KuCoin to Bybit is secure as long as you are doing it according to the steps provided in the guide. Make precautionary steps regarding scams like phishing, and be cautious when you copy the deposit address. If you copy the address wrong, you won't get your withdrawn USDT. Pay close attention to the chain that you choose for the transaction – the blockchain option has to be supported by both KuCoin and Bybit exchanges; otherwise, your assets could be permanently lost.

The bottom line

Many users are concerned about the security of transferring cryptocurrency from one crypto exchange to another. The process is actually not that complicated, and you only have to pay attention to a few details, such as making sure you are sending funds on the correct blockchain. If you are transferring an amount of funds that's significant to you, we recommend that you first perform a test transfer between the two exchanges with a small amount of funds just to see that everything is working correctly.
